Location & Clientele
Situated on a sparkling blue
crescent of the Pacific at the north end of Troncones Beach, Mexico, just 30
minutes north of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. With prevailing winds and waves
from the south, the bay is very protected and perfect for wading,
swimming and snorkeling. This inn is situated on a point
which forms a spectacular left surf break right in the front yard.
The Pacific Coast of Mexico provides
an enchanting experience for the cultured traveler: Yoga Retreats,
Eco-Tourism and World-Class Surfing. Troncones beach offers miles of
sparsely populated sand and surf. Ixtapa is an immaculate
first-world tourist destination while the bustling fishing village of
Zihuatanejo offers up the charming chaos of authentic Mexico.
Troncones Beach is the perfect balance between the popular tourist
frenzy of Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo and relaxation that comes with being a

Troncones is a popular destination for

Transportation
The Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo International
Airport is located just 30 minutes south of Troncones. Major airlines
include U S Air, United, American, Delta, Continental, Alaska Air, Frontier,
America West, Mexicana, Aero Mexico, plus US and Canadian Charter
companies. The Ixtapa/Zihuaairport was freshly renovated and expanded
to service more flights. An existing Port of Entry airport in Lazaro
Cardenas, 20 minutes north, is being expanded. The airport in Lazaro
Cardenas is the largest
airport on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Mexico City airport has
been expanded with a new international terminal (Terminal 2) serving
Aero Mexico allowing for ease of connecting flights.
A new highway from the state capital of Michoacan,
Morelia, was
just completed, providing a new market of upscale Mexican tourist. Morelia
is only 3.5 hours from the inn and is located in the heart of Mexico
right between two of its largest cities, Mexico City and Guadalajara.
It is one of 200 cities named Cultural World Heritage sites by UNESCO
because the preservation of character and charm reveal exceptional
levels of mankind's creations. Morelia was built in the 16th century
around a Franciscan monastery with many historical monuments, all
retaining their structure showing vital cultural and economic life
that flourished in the 17th century. Morelia also offers night clubs,
theaters, performing arts centers, convention and meeting facilities,
shopping centers, restaurants, as well as a zoo with one of Latin
America's largest collections of animal life.
Guest Rooms
The inn offers ten guest accommodations with private baths and patios,
all with ocean views. Eight guest accommodations are
clustered around the swimming pool in a manicured tropical
garden. Each
guest bungalow is accented with local artisanship such as terra cotta
and hand-painted talavera tiles fired in nearby kilns. The roofs are
palm-thatched palapas woven by local craftsmen. Canopies drape each
king-sized bed. Natural light and soft tropical breezes seep through
the louvered windows and hand crafted plantation doors.
Fabulous weather mandates outdoor
living. Each private bungalow includes a patio salon for cocktailing,
entertaining, reading, resting or simply contemplating. With double
doors wide open, the barrier between private space and universe
erodes. Two new suites offer HD-TV and Whisper Quiet air conditioning.
Surf
Shop, Restaurant, Beach Bar, Pool
Surf
Shop: The inn's surf shop carries a variety of
beach themed apparel,
lotions, Tequila, Cigars and an excellent selection of new and used surf
gear for sale and rent. It also serves as a compact business center with
pay phone and pay per minute internet service. WIFI is available in
the common areas including the restaurant and bar. WIFI to all the rooms
is in the works.
Restaurant & Bar: The garden patio restaurant
and beachfront bar and grill has a reputation for serving some of the region's
best food. Restaurant is 40 seats with a commercial kitchen. The
patron seating area is approximately 60 feet in diameter. The
inn also offers service on the beach with seven tables seating an
additional 28 people. Dinner service is not offered on the beach after
dark although service is offered for special events on the beach with
lighting added in trees for the event.
Pool:
Swimming pool is landscaped and lighted. Pool is 100 square meters
with deck and pump room.
